APBY Leaders Consultation, Pattaya Testimonies

My name is YHanh. It was such a blessing for me to be with you all in Pattaya, 2011. I want to thank my donors who supported my trip to attend the APBY Leaders consultation. And I also want to thank the APBY for the efforts to promote the Baptist Churches in Vietnam (BCV) in Asia. During my time in Pattaya, I felt many people were friendly and sociable. I was so glad to see how people cared for Christians in Vietnam.

I loved talking to many young people from many countries; to hear their experiences in ministry. I was touched when you gathered around me to hear my sharing and to pray for Vietnam. By doing that, I recognised your love was sweet and great for us, and the love of Christ that covered my country. I know deep in my heart God is going to do some new things within the young generation.

Workshops time was truly alive. For me, they were the highlight of the conference. I wish we had more time for workshop. There were many significant things, worth learning from the speakers who brought the quintessence of their best to make workshops and sermons friendly and valuable in which I was able to measure the spiritual lessons that can help every ministry to become strong and to build a healthy youth ministry. That's an unforgettable experience of mine!

I shared all the things that I could learn from the conference to our youth meeting in Ho Chi Minh City. They're praying for APBY and wish to hold the first youth international conference in Vietnam. We may not have good conditions as other countries, but the hearts of young people here are burning for Christ and the desire to learn from others so that they can apply to their own situations.

There are three major prayer requests:
1. Training youth leaders
2. Holding camp programs for youth
3. Winning young people for Christ in urban areas.

I came to the APBY Leadership Consultation not really knowing what to expect. I left feeling massively encouraged by what I had seen and heard. I had met gifted and charismatic young leaders from right across the Asia Pacific region. I had listened with amazement to stories of how God is at work among young people in Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan, Cambodia, Vietnam, New Zealand, Malaysia and so many other countries. I was blessed by the Spirit-filled worship and inspired by the preaching and the workshop program.

Two months after the Consultation, I still find myself referring back to the workshop book time and again. And the team building game was great fun too! What a wonderful privilege to have been a part of this Consultation, to have been able to network and learn from other young leaders, and to encourage and be encouraged by other fellowship together in Jesus.
